this article didn’t specify what type of carious lesions they are applying SDF to, but i have been applying SDF to incipient inter-proximal caries (both permanent and primary teeth) for about 18 months now and i am seeing about 70-80% of these lesions are showing no signs of growth on radiographs. i apply at recall exam when i diagnose caries and again a 6 month recall (i take BWX at 12 month intervals on these pts). i am typically not having the pt come back for any additional applications (unless it is with an operative apt where i am “watching” the the other quads). anyone else doing this? what are you seeing?
